Anthony “Tattoo Tony” Rodriguez is a veteran tattoo artist rooted deeply in the culture and history of the Jersey Shore. With decades of hands-on experience in the tattoo industry, Tony represents a generation of artists who came up before the rise of social media—when knowledge was earned through mentorship, hard work, and respect for the craft.

Driven by a lifelong passion for tattooing and its legacy, Tony founded the Tattoo Museum of the Jersey Shore—a growing, living archive dedicated to preserving the stories, artifacts, and contributions of tattoo pioneers. New Jersey holds a rich and often overlooked place in tattoo history, having been home to and influenced by legendary artists such as Ernie Carafa, Paul Rogers, Gene Bernardo, Ken Yates, Mike Callahan, Len Weber, and Tony Cambria—just to name a few.

As the tattoo industry continues to evolve and grow at a rapid pace, Tony remains committed to honoring its roots. The museum serves as both a tribute and an educational platform, ensuring that the artists who paved the way are never forgotten. Through curated exhibits, historical artifacts, and ongoing research, the Tattoo Museum of the Jersey Shore connects past and present—keeping the traditions of tattooing alive for future generations.

Tony’s mission extends beyond New Jersey, recognizing the global impact of tattoo culture and the countless artists who shaped it. In an era where many newer artists may not be familiar with the origins of their craft, Tony’s work stands as a reminder of where it all began—and why that history matters.
